SELLERS PREPARATION

#1 Recommendation is to consider having your home inspected before you list it.  This will tell you if there are any repairs needed so you can address them before the house goes on the market.  A proactive seller is exactly what buyers are looking for.

Your house should be clean and orderly in preparation for sale.  Flooring is key in preparing your home for showings. Buyers want a home that is move-in ready, flooring will reveal how well the home has been up kept. Up-to-date flooring is very appealing to buyers.  Your exterior tells a story of how your property in maintained. It creates an impression when buyers drive by or view photos.  When buyers see an eye-catching exterior, they will be more excited to view the interior.

By repairing your home before sale you can make a considerable difference in the time it takes to sell.  In order to help you eliminate buyer objections before they arise, some repairs and improvements are listed below and may help in advance.

 

LIVING AREAS:

Replace all burnt out light bulb
Clean fireplace
Apply fresh paint as needed to cover holes and blemishes
Replace damaged window blinds and curtain

 

KITCHEN:

Sweep and mop floors
Clean tile and grout
Clean all surface space on the counters
Clean Oven

CLOSET/GARAGE:

Shoes and clothes neatly arranged
Clean floor off of clutter
Door and drawers should open and close
Remove Clutter

 

OUTDOOR CLEAN-UP:

Clean all doorways, windows and awnings
Replace dead plants and trim shrubbery
Oil Wood and clean stains on house
Clean up yard and patio of debris and clutter
Repair lose fence boards

BATHROOMS:

Clean mirrors and all surfaces
Replace shower Curtain
Remove stains from toilet and sink
Fix Faucets that drip

 

FINAL TOUCH UPS:

Clean windows
Check house numbers, mailbox numbers, and lighting
Clean carpets
Clean furnace so no dust smell happens if tested
